About
Hi, I’m Nat! A Mental Health Blogger, Speaker & Peer Leader, whose life’s mission and passion is to support others on their recovery journeys using my lived and living experience.
I have been on a some-what rollercoaster with my Mental Health since the age of 11 – mostly depression, anxiety and hypomania, but on the bad days voice hearing and delusions.
When I was 25 I had my biggest episode of psychosis. I was hospitalized under the Mental Health Act and later diagnosed with Bipolar 1, PTSD & Substance Use Disorder.
Since then I have been working hard on my recovery journey; tweaking my lifestyle, building care strategies and learning as much as I can about Mental Illness.
Finding and building community, opening dialogues and speaking my truth has fostered a recovery journey behind my wildest dreams.
To me, the best part of recovery is that you don’t have to do it alone.
There will always be good days & bad, but with hard work, a commitment to myself and thirst for lifelong learning, I can tell you that – IT DOES GET BETTER.
We owe it to ourselves to stay curious, explore our make up and build a life of self compassion, positive communication & empowered expression.
These days I manage with, not suffer from, chronic mental illness.
You can find me here or on Instagram rambling on about my latest revelation, sharing writing or loves, and just generally having a jolly good time!
I am grateful to live and work on the traditional lands of the Coast Salish peoples, Vancouver Island – where I live with my husband and two wee rascal Chiweenies.
